The Water Project

Photographs produced from City Hearts’ Fresh Focus Photography Program students.

Water pollution is one of the most urgent problems we must address. Human life cannot continue without clean water, yet our consumption of single use water bottles dramatically compounds the problem.  Estimates are that 20 billion, yes billion, single use water bottles end up in landfills.  How much of this trash winds up in our rivers,  lakes and oceans is anyone’s guess.

City Hearts Photography Students at Emerson Elementary, Roosevelt Elementary and Whaley Middle School in Compton, combined their visual voices to address this social issue. Their masterful photography accomplishes one of the most important requirements of a photograph, to make it visually interesting!  Our final preparations for the exhibition were cut short with the closure of school, but I hope you enjoy their amazing work online.
